Church
The “Palabra Viva” Church was founded in 2008 by five families from Mérida who longed for a congregation attached to the Scriptures.
Coming from different denominations, these families began to meet in their homes to study doctrinal issues that they considered crucial for a local church.
After two years, the believers were convinced that God was calling them to found a congregation in the city of Mérida that would serve as a place of rest and biblical training for Christians in the city.
We now believe that God has blessed our congregation with abundant love among the brethren and soundness in the Scriptures, giving evidence that that initial notion came from His Spirit.
The “Palabra Viva” Church is a small congregation, which has left its mark in the hearts of believers scattered around the world because of the Venezuelan exodus.
Nevertheless, God has sustained our congregation, giving us two elders with their families, and a group of solid believers in the Scriptures who desire to continue knowing the Lord and making Him known to the people of Merida.
Eduardo Osteicoechea came to Palabra Viva Church in 2011, where he heard, in his first visit, a sermon full of authority and biblical teaching by Eguis Rodriguez (who was one of the founding pastors).
Later, in the year 2012, he understood the gospel, and believed in Jesus Christ for salvation, being baptized in the middle of the same year.
Since his baptism, he has ministered in a sustained way in this congregation, in the areas of worship leading, evangelism and teaching.
In March 2018 he was recognized by the congregation as an elder, along with Pastor Eguis Rodriguez who was also ratified in his pastoral call.
We currently enjoy a wonderful ministry, guided by a relationship of friendship and mutual support, where we see the Lord’s grace at work in our lives and congregation.
Our vision for Living Word Church remains the same since its founding: We desire to adhere to the Word of the Lord and edify those who want to know Him.
